in addition to being incapable of watching only one stephane lambiel video in a sitting, i am also not able to post anything from 2006 without also posting his exhibition skate from that year’s world’s. for those of you who were not following me in february/march 2010, let me enumerate the 25 best things about this video:

2) he is skating in jeans and a black turtleneck.
3) he had another exhibition skate he’d been doing all season, but i think one of the ice dancing teams was using the same music? so he grabbed a song he was really into and pretty much improvised the whole thing.
4) that song was gavin degraw’s i don’t wanna be.
5) his turtleneck keeps riding up.
6) this actually makes me like that fucking song, because he has just won his second consecutive world’s gold and he is on top of the fucking, well, world, and it’s like, well yeah, why would he want to be anything other than what he’s been trying to be lately? he totally inhabits the spirit of the song and it just wins me over.
7) he was passionate in the short program and beautiful in the long, but here he’s just, i don’t even know. his energy is off the charts but also there’s an incredible amount of playfulness and almost like, sassiness? he’s totally playing the audience (who is totally eating up BECAUSE DUH) and having the absolute time of his life. it’s a stephane lambiel party on the ice. and stephane lambiel knows how to party.
8) he does this adorable little hair flip at 1:25 that’s like getting a glimpse of how he rocks out to music in his bedroom.
9) he is wearing red underwear.

11) we can see that he is wearing red underwear.
12) his jumps! they are so bouncy and fun-looking, instead of OMG ARE YOU GOING TO FALLLL scary like i find skating jumps like 80% of the time.
13) he does another ridiculous hair flip at 1:29.
14) best spinner in the world for pretty much all of his competitive years once he hit his stride, at least, pretty unquestioned. he disappears into a fucking blur and he’ll stick a hand up in the air at an angle to show off that he’s perfectly centered and it does this lovely little wavy illusion.
15) his kicks.
16) his hip-twists.

18) he kind of caresses himself at like 2:14, it’s a very music video move (he is a HUGE BRITNEY FAN) and why shouldn’t he.

20) i know i can’t shut up about his footwork, but look at it. LOOK AT IT.
21) **THIS IS MAYBE THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE** at 2:46, he starts, i am not making this up, LIP SYNCHING TO THE SONG, with the most blissful smile like YES GAVIN DEGRAW HAS PUT WORDS TO MY SOUL, it’s. it’s one of my favorite things that has ever happened on this planet we call earth.
22) AND THEN HE DOES IT AGAIN AT 3:11, all “I DOO-OON’T!!! WANNA BEEEE!!!” shaking his head and making a NO motion with his arms
