allecto asked: Who is your favorite historical figure?

OH MAN TOUGH ONE. frederick douglass is definitely up there, he’s usually the one that comes to mind first even though i don’t know as much about him as i should (SORRY I NEVER READ YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY WHEN IT WAS ASSIGNED, I’M SURE YOU’RE REALLY UPSET ABOUT THAT, I WAS BUSY HAVING A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN???). “what to a slave is the fourth of july” is one of my favorite pieces of american rhetoric/oratory/writing.

sor juana ines de la cruz was a fucking badass in like six million ways.

benjamin franklin just seems like a dude i would have had fun hanging out with (if i were also a white rich dude). i dunno my fondness for him is kind of irrational at this point but lingers nonetheless.

emilie du chatelet, oh man, she and voltaire were a thing for a million years and one of the things that drove a wedge between them was that he couldn’t handle that she was a way better scientist than she was. BALLER TO THE MAX.

i feel like there are more but those are the ones that came to mind first!
