parks and rec is mostly fantastic so far in my exposure of a few episodes

not big on the venezuelan delegates episode.

trying to figure out why this is bugging me but i didn’t really have any issues with the salma hayek storyline on 30 rock (which unfortunately i don’t remember well enough to compare off the top of my head). i remember feeling like it was more of a riff, and less like a making fun of her?

i dunno. anyone who’s seen both have any insight (on why i find them different, why they are different, or why i am wrong about either one)?

  2. novazembla said: I haven’t seen that ep of 30 Rock, but that’s the only Parks and Rec episode I hate.
  3. jonathanbogart said: But to yr q: good satire comes out of intimate knowledge. Feel like 30 Rock understands NY PRicans better than P&R understands “generic banana republic”
  4. ourcatastrophe said: nah that episode is legitimately terrible. it’s chock fulla racist stereotyping and also it’s not funny.
  5. rakalak said: i… don’t know how to coherently comment on this, but i agree. salma hayek storyline felt like liz and jack were constantly proving their racism and salma was just awesomesauce and we all knew it, but the venezuelan p&r ep… ehhhhh
